Package Overview
The 5-Day Rongai Route is the only route that approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the northern side, offering a quiet and less-traveled climb with incredible views of Kenya and the vast open plains.
It’s a perfect option for those seeking a gradual ascent, high summit success rate, and a more peaceful trekking experience.
This route descends via the Marangu Route, giving climbers the chance to enjoy both sides of the mountain — and ends with a comfortable night in Moshi or Arusha after the climb.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Rongai Gate (1,950m) → Simba Camp (2,600m)

Day 2: Simba Camp (2,600m) → Third Cave Camp (3,800m)
Distance: 9 km | Hiking Time: 6–7 hrs

Day 3: Third Cave (3,800m) → Kibo Hut (4,700m)

Distance: 16 km | Hiking Time: 10–12 hrs
Start the summit push around midnight. Ascend slowly past Gilman’s Point (5,681m) to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa!
After celebrating and photos at the summit, descend carefully to Horombo Hut for a well-earned rest.
Day 5: Horombo Hut (3,720m) → Marangu Gate (1,860m) → Moshi/Arusha
Distance: 20 km | Hiking Time: 5–6 hrs
